Located in the 10th arrondissement between Opera Garnier and Montmartre, the Parisian gateaway Hôtel Paradis has been designed by Dorothée Meilichzon. Inspired by the Parisian landscape, she was given free reign to offer this special boutique hotel, a unique aesthetic identity and warm atmosphere.
The idea behind Paradis was to create a cosy hotel at a low price, with no specific theme but a unique decor. So each room is different, furniture and carpets are custom made or reissued. I used a lot of prints on wallpapers, on fabrics, on the round and soft headboards specifically designed, and on the carpets.
The place is called Hotel Paradis, I have used a lot of bird prints to remind me of the Oiseau de Paradis. The hotel is meant to be a peaceful place in a very dense district, in a crowded city – Dorothée Meilichzon, interior designer.
