Ikea is back with a new PS collection! Yay! The collection doesn’t include any core functional pieces such as sofas or beds. Rather, it responds to the way young people live by focusing on design that you can move around and use in different ways.
Today, for the first time ever, more people live in cities than in the countryside. They move more often and live in smaller spaces. But they still dream of a beautiful, functional home that perfectly fits their lives. And perhaps most importantly, they have less money to spend. These global insights have inspired the new IKEA PS 2014 On the Move collection.
“We’ve chosen to devise a series of products that offer cutting-edge design that remains affordable.”, says Peter Klinkert, Project Manager for the IKEA® PS collections. “These are multifunctional designer objects that involve us in the design conversation, depending on where we place them and how we use them.”
IKEA PS 2014 is for a home that is in constant motion, always ready for new situations and needs. You could say that it’s design that moves you — to live more simply and do more in the space you have. It’s for people and homes on the move: young-in-mind urban people living “in the moment” in a small space.
