Built in 1719 by Pierre Cailleteau, the apartment is located in a private residential building occupied, in part, by the same family for hundreds of years. This mythical address has first been that of Greta Garbo and Cécile de Rothschild and then Gabrielle Chanel’s in the 1920s.
As a festive place, the premises have witnessed the stay of great aristocratic personalities and the upper Parisian bourgeoisie. “Coco Chanel is not only the most famous person ever having occupied the apartment, but it is her who has had the biggest impact on the place,” explains private event organiser Melissa Regan – founder of MR Agency – now in charge of the daily activities of the apartment. “In the period when Coco Chanel lived in the apartment, her friend and lover José-Maria Sert painted the ceiling frescoes, Jean Cocteau found refuge in the premises and Coco Chanel herself designed the garden.”
This unique venue has been fully renovated while preserving its historical DNA. On this occasion, the apartment has been sublimated with rich collaborations : the exquisite furnishing of the old dinning room by &tradition, together with the exclusive DD Lighting collection signed by Parisian designers duet Dorothée Delaye et Daphné Desjeux.
Coco Chanel’s apartment is now available for private events such as fashion shows, art exhibits, press events, product launches etc… More info at MR Agency.
