david/nicolas is a Beirut based design studio co-founded in 2011 by David Raffoul and Nicolas Moussallem. They have send me their new collection specially created for a typical Lebanese house in the heart of Beirut. Tessa is a beautiful family of objects and furniture carefully designed to ensure a relationship between a space and a character. It is composed from a dining table, stools, high backrest chairs, low tables and candleholders.
Guillotine is a limited edition of 4 reception chairs characterized by a very high backrest which gives it a strong personality and makes it unique.
Its design, sleek yet intriguing gives its user a different experience, it makes him feel secure, special and exclusive.
Even when not in use it is a sculptural object, its high backrest was designed carefully in a way that it always keeps the transparency of the space.
Guillotine is made of a black glossy metal structure with a seat and backrest in plain textile. The extremity of the legs as well as the junction detail between the structure and the backrest are made out of copper.
Dining Table – Not meant to be discrete, the dining table is made of copper tubes with details of Carrara marble, a 2cm thick glass that stabilizes the structure and a ceramic amphora that implies a historical presence.
#11 dining chair/ counter stool – it is discrete yet at a second level, it shows very elegant details and proportions which makes it perfect with the High dining table proposed.
#11 is made of a black glossy metal structure with a seat and backrest in plain textile. The extremity of the structure that holds the backrest is in copper with an inversion of screws.
Levels is a set of two low tables made of copper and Carrara marble.
3 bougies – A set of three candle holders turned in Carrara marble, these pieces are characterized by their similar identity but each piece is defined by a height and an angle.
