Giorgio Bonaguro : Alfiere, Regina and Pedone Stools

Stool by Giorgio Bonaguro - flodeau.com 01Milan-based designer Giorgio Bonaguro has sent me images of a family of stools he designed in collaboration with new Italian brand Icons FurnitureAlfiere, Regina and Pedone stools are inspired by the shapes and characteristics of chess pawns.

Stool by Giorgio Bonaguro - flodeau.com 05Made of solid scented cedarwood with semi-artisanal techniques and processes, Alfiere ( the “Bishop” in Italian) features a geometric form, interrupted by a large diagonal cut which acts as a magazine rack, the “moving” Regina (the “Queen”) has a more “aristocratic” and imposing shape, whilst Pedone (the “Pawn”) is a rounded and simple stool.
