Digital love is a beautiful and fine collection of 30 unique decorative plates designed by david/nicolas for Portuguese porcelain manufacturer Vista Alegre.
About : This project was born from a very special process: after 3 months inside the factory of the porcelain company Vista Alegre, we wanted to create something new, something different by fusing “ready-made” pieces in the oven at 1400 °C, at this temperature, the glaze of the porcelain melts and glues the pieces together which resulted in sculptural compositions.
Many experiences had to be done to find a solution so that the pieces don’t break inside the oven. With a retro-futuristic approach, the decoration of the plates is a composition of lines and reflections. The pieces are hand painted with both gold and platinum and the result is a collection of elegant objects that are inspired by the digital world and are a reinterpretation of the future and what it hides under the beautiful reflections of the past.
